2e filmpje op You Tube

Beginners Quilt

Een tweede filmpje staat er op You Tube, nu van betere kwaliteit. Het tweede filmpje heeft een makkelijkere techniek en is evt. voor de beginnende quilter uit te dokteren. Ook zal je zien dat je niet iedere keer precies over het lijntje hoeft als je teruggaat over de gequilte lijn, zo geeft het juist een veel speelser effect. Heb je nog nooit machine gequilt en je vindt dit erg leuk, raadt ik je aan eerst een workshop te doen. Ja ik geef ze zelf, dus welke lerares zou dat niet zeggen, denk je bij jezelf.
Het voordeel van een les is dat je niet alles helemaal zelf hoeft uit te dokteren en als je in de knoei komt er gelijk met je meegekeken wordt. Ook zie je meteen hoe het opgelost kan worden en je dus minder onzeker bent/wordt.
Ook krijg je zoveel tips over bijvoorbeeld aan-, afhechten. Het soort garen je wanneer kunt gebruiken en welke tussenvulling. Nou ja, ik behandel altijd best veel en dan gaan we eigenlijk zo'n dag het meest in op de praktijk. Voor mij is het altijd heel belangrijk dat iedereen aan het eind van de dag een beetje het gevoel heeft hoe het werkt en hoe de patronen in elkaar zitten. Je kan het niet meteen, ik zeg ook altijd, je gaat eigenlijk opnieuw leren schrijven. Daarna moet je thuis zelf aan de slag om het echt onder de knie te krijgen. I almost forgot to write you in English so here we go!!!

A second film is placed on You Tube, now with better quality. The second film has an easier technique and for the beginners in machine quilting it's possible to figure out how it's done. An other thing is, that you don't have to go over your first line everytime. When not you will have a much more vivid effect.
When you never have machine quilted before and you really like it, I would suggest to you, to take a Machine Quilting workshop. Yes, I do give them myself, so which teacher wont say that, you will be thinking.
The benefit of a workshop is that you don't have to figure everything out and when you will be having problems during class, somebody is there to help you. Also you can see right away how the problem is solved, so you are/will be less insecure.
You will be offert lots of tips in how to stop and start machine quilting the right way. The proper threads you can use at your quilttop and which batting to use. Well, lets say I always tell a lot and then our main goal is to do the practice. For me it's always very important that every student at the end of the day, feels a little in how the machine quilting is done and how the patterns work. You not a pro right away, I always tell my students that it's like learning how to write all over again, but then at the sewing machine. After that day of classes you will have to work on it yourself and get the real feeling in how every pattern works.
