Appliqué W.I.P. 2 and application classes Florence

Hoi Iedereen,

Hier even een update van mijn applicatie quiltje. Het begint op te schieten. In de hoeken komen nog een soort vlinders en er komen nog bessen aan de bladeren, maar ik ben een heel eind! Hieronder kun je zien bij foto 2 hoe de rand er uit ziet in (en uit) de steigers en bij foto 1 hoe het is geworden als alle rijgdraadjes er uit zijn. Ik ben er zelf wel tevreden mee, maar ik moet wel nog leren om patronen iets makkelijker te maken, want sommige dingen zijn te moeilijk en te klein om te appliqueren. Als alles gaat rafelen schiet het niet op...

Hi Everybody, 



Here an update from my application quilt. I've done a whole lot now. In the corners there will come some kind of butterflies and there will be berries under the leaves. I just need to learn now not to make my patterns to difficult, because some things are to little to do with appliqué. When everything starts fraying there will be a problem....

Ook wil ik jullie laten zien wat voor een plezier we hadden (tijdens sorry toen geen foto's genomen en) aan het eind van de Hand applicatie cursus die ik heb gegeven in Florence. We zouden met 8 dames gestart zijn, maar door gezondheidsredenen zijn we met 5 geëindigd, wat heel spijtig is. Beterschap meiden, ik denk aan jullie!


Also I would like to show you what pleasure we had (during, sorry no pictures and) at the end of the Hand Appliqué classes I gave in Florence. We should have started with 8 lady's, but for health reasons we ended with 5, which isn't very nice. I wish you all could health girls, I'm thinking about you!!!

Appliqué W.I.P.

Wat is dat mooi traditioneel applicatie met de hand! Gewoon puur de ouderwetse technieken, zoals het vroeger gedaan werd. Ik kan er zo van genieten, ieder stukje stof op zijn plekje, kleine steekjes, geen stiekeme uitsteekseltjes... Zoals jullie weten geef ik de les in Florence in applicatie en dit is het beginstuk van het project. Er komt nog een rand omheen en alles moet nog versierd worden met wat borduur versiersels, maar hier vast een kleine preview. 

The twists in the bellow part of the leaves are 0,5 cm, appliqued without humps.

So beautiful, traditional appliqué by hand! Just pure oldfashioned technique, like they did it in the old days. I can enjoy it so much every little piece of fabric on it's place, tiny little stitches, no secret bulges... Like I told before, I'm giving these classes in hand appliqué in Florence and this is the beginning of the project. Now I'm working on the border pattern and there will come all kinds of embroidery decorations. But this is what you can see for now.
